The aim of my thesis is to use artificial intelligence to detect and analyse changes in marine habitats, particularly coral habitats, using satellite images. More specifically, my work aims to develop large-scale mapping methods for marine habitats in order to monitor their temporal evolution and quantify the impact of environmental pressures, in particular coral bleaching due to climate change.
My PhD thesis is part of AIME (Artificial Intelligence for Marine Ecosystems) project, an innovative initiative aimed at harnessing AI for the conservation of marine ecosystems.
