ENTROPIE is a joint research unit (Université de La Réunion, IRD, CNRS, IFREMER and Université de la Nouvelle-Calédonie) whose objective is to better understand the functioning of marine and island ecosystems in the tropical Indo-Pacific in the context of global warming.

ENTROPIE brings together ecologists, ecophysiologists and marine geneticists as well as specialists in remote sensing and signal processing in order to propose strategies for conservation, enhancement and sustainable management.

The originality of ENTROPIE is the integrative approach at different spatio-temporal scales of evolutionary processes and resilience of reef and offshore ecosystems through human interactions with resources and the environment.
